º¬Ðß²ÝÑо¿Ëù

Rauno Joks, MD is an Associate Professor of Clinical Medicine. He is the Chief and Program Director of the Allergy & Immunology Division of the Department of Medicine. In addition to Allergy & Immunology, Dr. Joks is a rheumatologist, having completed both fellowships, with board certification, at º¬Ðß²ÝÑо¿Ëù Downstate. His research interests include regulation of IgE production and mechanisms of allergic inflammation, as well as relation of allergic disease and asthma to other chronic inflammatory conditions.

After attending º¬Ðß²ÝÑо¿Ëù Binghamton where he attained his B.S. in Biology. he received his M.D. degree at º¬Ðß²ÝÑо¿Ëù Stony Brook. His Internal Medicine residency training occurred at Roosevelt Hospital Center in New York before coming to Downstate for fellowship training. He is an active faculty member in the College of Medicine at º¬Ðß²ÝÑо¿Ëù Downstate, and also works as a hospitalist in the Department of Medicine at Kings County Hospital Center. His scholarly works have been published in Journal of Allergy and Clinical Immunology - In Practice, JAMA-Pediatrics, and Annals of Allergy, Asthma, and Immunology.
