Dr. Puneet Dhaliwal, PT, DPT, MA, NCS, CEEAA, CSRS, Assistant Professor, achieved the highest honors from the Bachelor of Physical Therapy Program at Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER) in Chandigarh, India. She continued her education by obtaining a Master of Arts in 鈥淢otor Control and Learning鈥� from Columbia University, and completed her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Utica College. Dr. Dhaliwal is a board certified Neurological Specialist (NCS) and has advanced clinical experience in vestibular diagnostics and rehabilitation. She is a certified Exercise Expert for Aging Adults (CEEAA) and a certified stroke rehabilitation specialist (CSRS).
Dr. Dhaliwal has over 11 years of specialized clinical experience treating patients with a variety of neurological, vestibular, cardiopulmonary, and orthopedic conditions in acute, inpatient rehab, and outpatient settings. She is currently a Vestibular Special Interest Group podcast committee member with the Academy of Neurology of the APTA, and also as a Geri EDGE committee member with the Academy of Geriatrics of the APTA. She has published numerous podcasts with more than 30, 000 listens. She has been actively engaged in mentoring students and providing patient group support and education to the community during her years of employment as a clinician and as an academician. She is currently engaged in teaching in the DPT program and teaches Patient/ Client management I, Principles of Education in Physical Therapy, Preventative Care, Motor Control and Motor Learning II and Neuromuscular Physical Therapy.
Dr. Dhaliwal has presented research including 鈥淒ual task attention and interlimb coordination in Parkinson鈥檚 disease鈥� which was presented as a poster at American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) Combined Sections Meeting (CSM), in 2012. Her case study 鈥淪ide-lying Test: A better tool for diagnosing BPPV compared with Dix Hall pike maneuver in patients with Vestibular rehabilitation鈥� was selected for poster presentation at First International Vestibular Conference, 2018 and also at Association of Academic Physiatrists, World Congress, March, 2020. She recently presented a poster at Association of Academic Physiatrists on Vestibular Rehabilitation as Treatment Intervention in people with Giant Cell Arteritis with Visual Loss in 2023.
