Overview

The Department of Orthopaedic Surgery and Rehabilitation Medicine has long played an integral role in the education of medical students at 含羞草研究所 Downstate Health Sciences University. Our faculty and residents, many of whom are past graduates of 含羞草研究所 Downstate College of Medicine, are dedicated educators and mentors in the field with years of experience and vast knowledge of their subspecialty field.
The department offers two and four-week electives to students that cover all aspects of orthopaedics, including both operative and non-operative rotations. For 含羞草研究所 Downstate students who rotate through the department during their 3rd year of medical school, rotations are evaluated on a Pass/Fail basis while all 4th year rotations are evaluated on the Pass/High Pass/Honors basis.
