Mandatory Ethics Training

By Office of Communications & Marketing | Jun 6, 2025

June dates announced + online Ethics Refresher

It鈥檚 crucial that all Downstate employees meet the state鈥檚 MANDATORY requirement to attend annual Ethics Training.

  • If you missed training last year, you must take training now to satisfy your 2024 requirement
(see options below). Note, you will also need to take the Ethics Refresher later in 2025.
  • If you already attended Ethics training in 2024 or 2025, the 2025 Online Ethics Refresher Training is now live in HealthStream. It鈥檚 required for everyone on alternating years, opposite live trainings.
  • Finally, if you鈥檝e met the requirement for 2024 and taken the refresher in 2025, thank you! You can disregard this notice.

Confused?

Ethics Training is a yearly requirement. That means that completing an overdue training for the 2024 calendar year in 2025 does not satisfy both 2024 and 2025 requirements.

Think of it this way: Ethics training is like filing your federal income taxes.
If you鈥檙e overdue to file your 2023 taxes, you still have to file your 2024 taxes.

2025 Ethics Refresher (HealthStream)

  • The 2025 Ethics Refresher course is now live in HealthStream.
  • You are only eligible to take this training if you already completed Live Ethics training in 2024 or early 2025.
  • The course is called 鈥淢andatory CETC Ethics Training Refresher (HR).鈥
  • It will appear in your To Do tab.
  • Training is due by July 18, 2025.
  • The course is self-paced online, and takes roughly 45 minutes to complete.
  • Audio playback cannot be paused, so set aside uninterrupted time for learning.
  • Upon completion, HealthStream will present you with a certificate of completion. Please download and keep this for your records. There鈥檚 no need to email your certificate to Rich Jones or DHR.
