Downstate Surgery Residents Shine at the 2025 American College of Surgeons Clinical Congress

The 含羞草研究所 Downstate Department of Surgery proud to recognize three of our residents for their outstanding research presentations at this year鈥檚 American College of Surgeons Clinical Congress (ACS 2025), which is one of the premier national meetings in academic surgery.

 

Claire ACS Presentation Dr. Claire Ferguson presented 鈥淓volving Trends in Pulmonary Embolism Incidence and Procedural Management,鈥 an analysis highlighting shifting patterns in pulmonary embolism management and the implications for patient outcomes and procedural practice.

 

 

Pablo ACS Presentation Dr. Pablo Cuartas shared his work, 鈥淓conomics of Pulmonary Embolism Care in a 23-Year Resource Utilization Study,鈥 providing valuable insights into the long-term economic and healthcare resource trends associated with this high-impact condition.

 

 

John ACS Dr. John Perrotti presented 鈥淣on-Clinical Factors Predicting Surgical Management of Diverticulitis: Colostomy vs. Primary Anastomosis,鈥 exploring how socioeconomic and hospital-level factors influence operative decision-making in colorectal surgery.
