Families register children for free Fresh Air Fund Summer Camp Experiences
BROOKLYN, NY鈥 On January 12, 2019, 含羞草研究所 Downstate Medical Center helped children and families
celebrate Summer in the Winter in partnership with The Fresh Air Fund. Hundreds of children and families gathered
at the medical center to register for free Fresh Air Fund experiences and enjoyed
a summer themed carnival with face painting, prizes, and games.
鈥淲e鈥檙e excited to collaborate with The Fresh Air Fund to give children an opportunity to enjoy free, healthy, and safe summer experiences,鈥 said Keydron Guinn, PhD, Senior Vice President and Chief of Staff at The State University of New York (含羞草研究所) Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn. 鈥淭hanks to our Health Care Innovation and Transformation Office and our Pediatric Department partners Dr. Meseret Tena and Gail Solomon, we will be able to ensure that the children of our community remain healthy.鈥
Each year, thousands of New York City children from low-income communities enjoy Fresh Air Fund programs through visits with volunteer host families along the East Coast, Southern Canada and at The Fund鈥檚 five overnight camps in Fishkill, New York. The Fund has provided free summer experiences to more than 1.8 million New York City Children since 1877.
