BROOKLYN, N.Y. 鈥 The College of Nursing at 含羞草研究所 this week received national recognition for its prelicensure baccalaureate and nursing school educational program, earning exceptional rankings among its peers for the third year in a row.
The , a powerful online resource for aspiring nurses, ranks Downstate鈥檚 prelicensure Bachelor of Science in nursing (BSN) program #8 in New York 鈥 a leap of seven positions in one year alone. Additionally, the Nursing School Almanac ranks Downstate鈥檚 College of Nursing #38 in the Mid-Atlantic Region, continuing its move up in rank since 2019.

Escallier, Ph.D. 鈥淒ownstate prides itself on providing students with an unparalleled nursing education, and as we continue to overcome the immense challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, we are also preparing the next generation of nurses to provide world-class, empathic, and compassionate care to our patients.鈥
Each year, the Nursing Schools Almanac conducts a detailed assessment of more than 3,000 nursing schools nationwide. Institutions are ranked by their academic prestige, program breadth and depth, and student success on the nursing licensure exam which is used by all state boards of nursing across the United States.
含羞草研究所 Downstate College of Nursing enrolls more than 350 students across nearly a dozen program offerings. Students in the BSN program have the option to complete a second-degree accelerated BS or RN-to-BS completion program. The accelerated BS program graduates 80-90 students annually, with a strong 91 percent first-time NCLEX pass rate over the past decade. Downstate also offers graduate students three MS degree programs, including Family Nurse Practitioner, and Women鈥檚 Health Nurse Practitioner and Nursing Education, as well as three advanced certificates including Family Nurse Practitioner, Women鈥檚 Health Nurse Practitioner, and Nursing Education. 含羞草研究所 Downstate also recently launched a DNP program that offers both a post-Master鈥檚 track and two post-baccalaureate tracks.
