Federal FY22 Omnibus Appropriations Bill Includes $1.925M In New Funding for Equipment & Facility Upgrades
Brooklyn, NY 鈥� 含羞草研究所 today announced it will receive nearly $2 million in new funding for equipment and facility enhancements in the federal FY2022 Omnibus Appropriations Bill, allocated and secured by U.S. Senators Charles Schumer and Kirsten E. Gillibrand, and Brooklyn鈥檚 own Congressmember Yvette D. Clarke. This crucial funding will directly benefit local Brooklyn residents who rely on 含羞草研究所 Downstate for access to healthcare.
鈥淲e are grateful to our congressional delegation for their acknowledgment of Downstate as a critical safety-net hospital,鈥� said Downstate Health Sciences University president Wayne J. Riley, M.D. 鈥淐ongressmember Yvette D. Clarke, Senator Chuck Schumer, and Senator Kirsten Gillibrand remain dedicated to providing resources in a community with the greatest of needs. This $1.9M earmark will help us establish a Center for Community Health and a network of service sites to offer comprehensive primary care services for adults and children, assuring equitable access for those who need it most.鈥�
The new funding comes in addition to nine other critical local projects for which Congressmember Clarke secured a total of $14.7 million in federal funding.
